iTunes Review

Blondie have never been conventional: their mix of disco, funk, calypso, hip-hop, and post-punk was iconoclastic from the start. But dig this: to celebrate their 40th anniversary and 10th studio album, Ghost of Download, they've bundled it with a collection of rerecorded versions of their greatest hits. Classics like "Heart of Glass" and "Rapture" sound fuller here, and Debbie Harry's voice is more alluring than flirty. The new songs, meanwhile, are as eclectic as ever. "I Screwed Up" mixes norteño accordions with a reggae beat and features Spanish rapping from the Oakland duo Las Rakas. "Rave" is a swirling dance track, and "A Rose by Any Other Name" is throbbing electro-rock with a cameo from Beth Ditto. Upping the eclecticism ante, Blondie deliver an alternately somber and rousing version of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 1983 hit "Relax."

In A Perfect World

In a perfect world, this would be a #1 Album with 4 #1 singles. A Rose By Any Name; Sugar On The Side, Rave & I Wanna Drag You Around. Plus a few more top 10 hits. It would win Grammys and AAMs. Maybe accidents will happen & radio will forgo their ageism & play what should be the record of the year. A+++++. Well done Blondie.

Blondie at their very best !!!!

This double album collection is some of Blondie's finest work. First you get all newly recorded versions of some Blondie's biggest hits which are simply amazing as they kept their classic sound and threw in a bit of Debbie's more sultry voice to bring them up to date a little. Then you get what the worlds been waiting for, well the Blondie fan based world that is "Ghosts Of Download" their 10th studio album featuring the singles "Sugar On The Side" and brand new single "I Wanna Drag You Around". Plus, the soon to be singles "A Rose By Any Name", "Mile High" and "Winter" like I said this is Blondie and Debbie Harry at their best and in my own opinion it's the 2014 version of "Parallel Lines" it's that good of an album. All I can say is if you are a Debbie Harry fan, a Blondie fan or heck even a Lady Gaga fan you will love this collection. Thank you Blondie for this fine collection we have all been patiently waiting for ... it was well worth the wait !!!!

First saw you on Parallel Lines tour... No one defines "original" more than Blondie. Fade away never, radiate forever!

Embracing a broad range of pop music that encompassed British Invasion rock, garage rock, disco, reggae, Latin rhythms, and hip-hop, Blondie was the most commercially successful band to emerge from the New York punk/new wave community of the late '70s. The group was formed in New York City in August 1974 by singer Deborah Harry (b. July 1, 1945, Miami, Florida), formerly of the folk-pop group Wind in the Willows, and guitarist Chris Stein (b.
