Timeless Psychedelic Goth

In the mid 80s a sibling came home from college and exposed me to a cassette tape that blew my head open and I was never the same. Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Cure get all the credit for goth music, but this album blows them all away in passion, intensity, and sound. Liz's haunted, 17yr old vocals and Robin's wailing, hypnotic guitars, and those Will Heggie basslines and 808 drums tho! Ive seen that this is the only CT album people under 30 can tolerate because it has that edge and sound that kids nowardays can relate to. Sorry but in retrospect their other 80s releases sound pretentious and fruity and badly mastered with too much treble. Yung folk, if you dabble in one Cocteau Twins record, choose this one.

Their best album ever...

This album is so intense. It always takes me back to my younger days...

Not exactly....

As a Cocteau twins fan, I didn't start off with this album, good thing, it was not exactly my favorite. It sounded more like Siouxsie and th Banshees, (No offense to them!) but lucklily they improved with each album.
