Album Review

Featuring a broader array of styles than any previous Linda Ronstadt record, Simple Dreams reconfirms her substantial talents as an interpretive singer. Ronstadt sings Dolly Parton ("I Never Will Marry") with the same conviction as she sings the Rolling Stones ("Tumbling Dice"), and she manages to update Roy Orbison ("Blue Bayou") and direct attention to the caustic, fledgling singer/songwriter Warren Zevon ("Poor Poor Pitiful Me" and "Carmelita"). The consistently adventurous material and Ronstadt's powerful performance makes the record rival Heart Like a Wheel in sheer overall quality.

Simple dreams - linda ronstadt

My 3 rd album to ever own. My first bf in 6th grade Virgil Gale turned me on to her. Simply awesome

Best album

One of the greatest albums ever made. Every song has a unique quality. Great listen. I recommend it to all.

That Voice:-)

Linda was part of the soundtrack of my childhood years. She was definitely one of my early 'little boy" crushes- right up there with Debbie Harry, Cher, and Olivia Newton John. Linda's voice to this day just gives me goosebumps, it just resonates into the fiber of my soul. This album, my mom had it as an 8 track, and we'd often play it in her car when she took my sister and I to school, grocery shopping, etc. SO Many memories tied to this music:-)!

After a brief flirtation with pre-rock pop, Ronstadt settled into a pattern of adult contemporary pop and Latin albums,...
