12 Songs, 41 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

There’s a tenderness and quiet intensity that permeates Blue Madonna. BØRNS checks off a number of touches—his seductive falsetto, kinetic electro-pop, a space-age theremin solo tucked within “Supernatural”—and ensures your favorite track will change daily. There’s a feral Prince jones coursing through “Second Night of Summer,” “Faded Heart,” and “Iceberg.” “God Save Our Young Blood” finds band namesake Garrett Borns and Lana Del Rey drifting by on a cloud, gazing into each other’s eyes. And “Bye-bye Darling,” with its hopeful message and glitter-ball accents, is the perfect track to slow dance to.

Doesn’t beat Dopamine.

I’m not a fan of all the new techno-y stuff he uses. He used just enough in Dopamine, but now I think it’s too much. And his voice in I Don’t Want U Back is so auto tuned..... I wish he didn’t do that. His voice is beautiful when it’s not messed around with. Other than that the songs are catchy, like Faded Heart. UGHHHH YEES.

Fan of Børns, not this album though

I've had this album on for the past 2 days to try to like it. But even though the album is palatable it's just not interesting, there is no real standout or memorable track. I'd recommend you stream it without wasting your coins

Blue Madonna

I am a huge fan of Børns. I loved “Dopamine”, every single track felt new and fresh. “Blue Madonna” feels rushed. Some songs are better than others. “Iceberg” in particular feels boring and rushed. I am very disappointed with the outcome of this album. There are some shining songs in this album such as “God Save Our Young Blood”, “Faded Heart”, “Sweet Dreams”, “Second Night of Summer”, and “Bye Bye Darling”. Overall, compared to “Dopamine”, this album I feel is “meh”.
