Album Review

Better solos and higher energy level than most of Klemmer's albums. This is the best-sounding version.

Customer Reviews

A Must Have.

John Klemmer “Touch” is a masterpiece. I first hear this album in 1976 when it came out. Right before the Disco era. At that time there was no such thing as smooth Jazz. Smooth Jazz came along much later. Yes this is 100% Real Jazz with the real feeling of the blues in every song. The songs are easy to listen too. But not smooth Jazz. Even though some smooth Jazz stations Like 94.7 FM in Los Angeles plays only the song “Touch”. Which is sad to me because their “Free Fall Lover”, “Glass Dolphins” or “Tone Row Weaver” they could also be playing. But they have been playing only ‘Touch” for well over five years now. I have been a fan of John Klemmer from the album Blowin Gold in the mid 60’s. This is such a great album because every song is great. It’s like buying a greatest hits album. If you just want to close your eyes relax and depressurize yourself for an hour. There is nothing better without a persecution from your doctor. If you want to set the mood for some lovemaking? Just put this album on the first track and turn down the lights. Sincerely, Jesus Garber

A great album

I remember this from when I was in college. I actuallly requested that they play this cd, and they did. What a wonderful memory.

This is one of the Best in smooth jazz

This whole album is on target for relaxation. It touches a relaxing nerve inside, one of a few music pieces that can take you to a place that you have never been. Klemmer uses a lot of smooth sounds to complement his smooth playing style. Listening to this after a romantic interlude is better than a cigarette.

An active composer and an innovator on the electrified saxophone (using echo effects quite effectively), John Klemmer was also a very strong Coltrane-inspired acoustic tenor saxophonist. His solo saxophone recordings preceded smooth jazz and new age and his variety of projects earned him a great deal of crossover appeal that includes his music sampled by hip-hop artists of the '90s. Over the course of his career, Klemmer collaborated with...
