EDITORS’ NOTES
Robyn had long since emancipated herself from teen-pop by the time she released her seventh album. But Body Talk’s real triumph comes from its blend of blunt statements of intent (“Don’t F*****g Tell Me What to Do,” “None of Dem”) with naked vulnerability. The wearily triumphant “Dancing On My Own” and the green-eyed “Call Your Girlfriend” speak to the longing that drives people to the dance floor; “Dancehall Queen” and “U Should Know Better” provide the pulsing template for catharsis.
