iTunes Review

These fast-rising British arena rockers open their second release with a heavy anthem that establishes the tone for album. “I Was Born, I Have Lived, I Will Surely Die” sets a dramatic melody against a pounding rhythm section and dense guitars as it works up to a fist-pumping chorus. The momentum continues with three crunching, adrenaline-laced tracks in “Dearly Departed,” “Bones,” and “Towers.” Young Guns then throw in a surprise. The brief ballad “Hymn for All I’ve Lost” shows a subtler side of the band while providing a smooth transition to the dynamic anthems “You Are Not” and “Brother in Arms.” They mix up the flow again with the moody instrumental “Interlude” before closing on the slow-burning “Broadfields.” Punchy and energetic, Bones is a solid second album that should earn the band even more converts.

One of the best of 2012

One of the best albums of 2012, have a Lost Prophets vibe to them!

These guys will be huge in the states soon. I'm speechless. Now let's put the EP and first album on ITunes now!!!

These guys are going to be huge

As soon as I heard the song Bones I was instantly hooked to Young Guns. These guys are not your typical alternative rock band. They are heavier and have more passion in their sound than most bands in the genre. This album is a good from start to finish for sure. The album is a little front loaded in my mind, but it still very solid. As I said, the song Bones is huge and will have you singing along right from the opening chorus. And all of the songs have a deeper lyrical meaning than most alternative rock bands. All of the songs are guitar driven and their singer commands your attention with his soaring voice. A very solid album by this up and coming band who is ready to take the US by storm in 2013. I just wish that their first album was on iTunes as well.

English alternative rock outfit Young Guns formed in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire in 2003. The quintet, which features the talents of vocalist Gustav Wood, bassist Simon Mitchell, drummer Ben Jolliffe, and guitarists John Taylor and Fraser Taylor, turned heads in 2009 with their debut EP Mirrors. The group’s penchant for apocalyptic lyrics and huge, stadium-ready anthems drew comparisons to artists like LostProphets and Taking Back Sunday, and landed them an opening slot for the first night of Bon...
