I started with her first full album, "On Your Shores", and it is still getting great air time in my life, but convinced that she's a talent, I've branched out on all the other albums available on itunes. Veins seems to be darker, just as cohesive though, and it's thoroughly beautiful. Cars On Crescent is a majestic, dark piano piece and she composed it, I mean, what more does it take to get some recognition? Four Walls is her branch out onto drum n' bass, which although unexpected, delivered. Veins definately has a mood to it. My worry is that Charlotte is going to become too overproduced, which I hate. Her voice is already a perfect instrument, so I hope producers don't see a need to sweeten things up out of fear that more commercially-adjusted ears won't pick up on it, because they need to hear a classically trained, beautiful voice. Anyway- Fear not, this is a great buy, you're going to love it.

I stumbled on Charlotte--and BOY am I GLAD i did! I love listening to her...honest, clear, eclectic. Unbelievable vocals and even better piano.

The lyrics, the composition; everything is simply beauty for the senses. My only nagging thought is "Wow, she sounds a lot like Tori Amos, but with slightly different songs and lighter chord combinations." That is not necessarily a bad thing though. I find this album absolutely worth every penny. Her earlier CDs that I previewed I felt were a bit juvenile for such a talented artist -- I felt she was still struggling to find herself. In this album, I believe, she has found herself. I would recommend purchasing this album and those in the future, but perhaps leaving the old albums behind.

Singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin got her start singing opera while attending Eastern Illinois University in the late '90s. Her father was a respected professor in the music department, and naturally Martin followed his footsteps. She'd been playing piano since she was a little girl and her childhood was surrounded by music. While attending school, Martin experienced "real life," from living with her goth roommate and dealing with typical college-like drama to the tragic suicides of two close friends....
