iTunes Review

Simon & Garfunkel's fourth album takes on psychedelic influences, the changing cultural climate of the ’60s, and their own ever-growing ambitions. Side One forms a cycle-of-life suite, from the chaotic "Save the Life of My Child" to the youthful wanderlust of "America" to the autumnal reflection of "Old Friends." Side Two finds the duo at their trippiest on "Fakin' It," their most whimsical on "At the Zoo," and their most rocking on "Hazy Shade of Winter." And we haven't even mentioned "Mrs. Robinson"…

Unbelievable

Cool! I love folk music! I am not even 9 years old and yet I have listened to these guys since I was 2 years old. My friends listen to Simon & Garfunkel too! I'm burning a CD for my entire class. Mrs. Robinson is the best song. This is my first review. If you like folk, pop, or rock buy a song from this album or buy the album. You'll love it!

Nothing shot of magic

It would be hard for any group to continue along the path of musical success with such masterpieces as "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme" and "Sounds Of Silence" preceding it, but The Dynamic Duo of folk music drove a powerhouse disk of tunes home with "Bookends." From the elegant poetry of "America" to the darkness of "Save the Life of My Child," Simon and Garfunkel made a record of both the sound that made them famous, and the experimental sounds of the day. With the mismash of tales in "Voices Of Old People" and the distorted synth in "Save the Life of My Child," S&G made a dramatic step forward. This disk marks the official release of "Mrs. Robinson," made famous in The Graduate. You would be hard pressed to find an album with such a moving track list.

America

Took off to look for America...man what a great time.....

The most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel crafted a series of memorable hit albums and singles featuring their choirboy harmonies, ringing acoustic and electric guitars, and Simon's acute, finely wrought songwriting. The pair always inhabited the more polished end of the folk-rock spectrum and was sometimes criticized for a certain collegiate sterility. Many also feel that Simon, as both a singer and songwriter, didn't truly blossom until he began his own hugely...
