Amazing Talent

I am amazed that I have not discovered Jimmies amazing music sooner. He is amazing at blending blues, swing, rockabilly, and even some country flavor into His own style. Not only is his guitar playing great his voice is amazing. I can't figure out why he wasn't singing lead in the Thunderbirds. His voice is at the high end of the spectrum but always sounds balanced and in control, not forced or squeezed out like many higher pitched tenors. Don't expect the same old thing in relation to the above mention musical styles Jimmie has definately his own original style and if you can open up to it the music will reward you. P. S. His take on the blues is much more positive lyrically then most traditional blues songs.

Raw, Gritty blues.

This album is one of my favorite blues album! Jimmie Vaughan is one of the most underrated guitar fiddlers out there. I love SRV, He is my hero but over the years I've equally if not more enjoyed Jimmie's music. Definitely one of the contemporary blues torch bearers. Below are my favorite tracks. Overall Hey-yeah is the single in the album. Its got acoustic blues tribute to SRV - Six Strings Down. Traditional Electric Blues - Just Like Putty. Funky Tracks like Hey-yeah. Boom-bapa-boom.

As a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmie Vaughan was one of the leading Austin, Texas guitarists of the late '70s and '80s, responsible for opening the national market up for gritty roadhouse blues and R&B. Influenced by guitarists like Freddie King, B.B. King, and Albert King, Vaughan developed a tough, lean sound that became one of the most recognizable sounds of '70s and '80s blues and blues-rock. For most of his career, Vaughan co-led the Fabulous Thunderbirds with vocalist Kim...
