Album Review

The result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, Borderland, the fourth long-player from earthy Charlotte, North Carolina-based singer/songwriter John Mark McMillan, offers up a richly detailed set of creative and impassioned praise & worship songs that eschew the usual CCM, megachurch pop templates in favor of a more organic, experimental, and authentic approach, especially on epics like "Future/Past" and "Guns Napoleon," that evokes the fiery folk-rock of Bruce Springsteen, the shape-shifting cadences of Gungor, and the heartfelt, rustic affability of the David Crowder Band.

Thank you JMM

In Southern California the secular indie scene dominates the music world and it seems like Christians don't want to be creative. JMM this is one of the best albums I have heard all time. If you're looking for cookie cutter commercialized mainstream Christian music like the same crap that's been playing on repeat on the Christian radio station for 10 years this is probably not for you. However if you are a music lover and you are looking for something fresh/creative/new in the Christian music world this cd is where your mind is blown. JMM has created some good stuff in the past but this album is amazing. Every track is unique and amazing. In "counting on" JMM takes it low. In "Holy Ghost" you will probably shed a tear hearing the truth in the frustration. Every song is a beautiful journey. Buy the cd liberate yourself from the CCM scene.

This album is great.

I really like JMM Music!

But he’s not speaking christianese, How am I supposed to understand it??

One of the Greatest Writers of Christian Music

First it was "How He Loves".
Then After That it was "The Medicine", "Carbon Ribs" and "Then Thousand".
And, as if it couldn't get any better after that, then came "Daylight".
And Now, theres "Future Past", and "Love at the End".

John Mark McMillan has been unknown for so long, eventhough he has written some classic songs (mostly "How He Loves"). This may be his breakthrough album. Always have believed in you JMM!
