iTunes Review

The sexiest album of 2012 just got an upgrade. The "Paradise" edition of Lana Del Rey’s debut LP, Born to Die, includes all 12 original tracks plus the deluxe edition’s three bonus cuts. Add to this a generous nine extra songs, previously unreleased. With an eerie period-correct mix, the arresting version of “Blue Velvet” here begs for David Lynch to direct either a prequel or sequel to his 1986 mystery film by the same name.

Mmm AMAZING!!!! So sensually beautiful. her voice gets me ever time!!!! I LOVE LANA!!!!

cinematic and beautiful

Of all the albums I’ve listened to in my life, very few have made me sit up and go “whoa.” This is one of them, and it happened in the first few seconds. From the opening violins of Born to Die, I knew this was something different, something new and cool and unlike anything I’d heard lately. There’s beauty in the lyrics, in the way she sings about love and lust and fame—combined with the instrumentation, Lana takes you on a Gatsby-esque, cinematic journey through darkness and light. Her voice is really what pulls it together for me—she has such a mesmerizing voice, smoky in her lower register and breathy and dreamy in her upper register.
Definite recommendations are Born to Die, Blue Jeans, Video Games, National Anthem, Dark Paradise, Lolita, Ride, Body Electric, and Gods & Monsters. Though I do think the full album is worth the buy. The Paradise Edition is a rerelease of Born to Die but with 9 additional songs, so I’d say it’s worth the money to get this version.

Great album!

This album is something I thought I will never hear in this era. It's amazing and her vocals performances are even better. Wasn't a fan but she totally bought me. Unique and relaxing album. Definitely recommended. Enjoy.
