iTunes Review

Ten years ago, Harlem son Cam'Ron had the streets and radio on lock with huge singles like "Oh Boy" and "Hey Ma." After years toiling in the NYC underground (his first group, Children of the Corn, also included Big L and Mase), he finally made it big. He also used his newfound fame to introduce his Diplomats crew, launching the careers of Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. With their over-the-top bravado and rambunctious production, Dipset became global superstars—until various beefs, too many affiliates, a controversial 60 Minutes interview, and changing tastes pretty much shut them down. Looking to show the world he's still here, Cam'Ron hits us with Boss of All Bosses 3, which is actually the series' fifth installment (following 2.5 and 2.8). Again teaming up with mixtape kingpin DJ Drama and the formerly buzzworthy Vado, Killa Cam drops the usual blustery rhymes loaded with weird metaphors, tales of high-roller excess, Uptown pride, and shots aimed at his enemies, all over brash production from AraabMuzik and others.

While at CAU, he also began his popular Automatic Relaxation mixtape series, which focused on neo-soul...
