Customer Reviews

If you have been waiting for the perfect Green Day collection, this is it. This collection contains every song the band has released from every album and every single. There are even some new bonus tracks as well.

While the first two albums the band released weren't as successful as their following ones, they still offer some good tracks. However, it's the band's 1994 diamond-selling album Dookie, that drew many people in.

With hits such as 'Longview', 'Welcome To Paradise', 'Basket Case', and 'When I Come Around', the album proved to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, punk album of all time. Following the success of Dookie, were Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning, which couldn't match the success of Dookie, but still fared well in sales.

In 2004, the band redefined the rock genre with the Grammy-award winning rock opera American Idiot. It tells the story of a rebel known as St. Jimmy. With hits like 'Jesus of Suburbia', 'Holiday', 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams', 'Wake Me Up When September Ends', and the title track, the album hit multi-platinum status in various countries.

Finally, the band's most recent album 21st Century Breakdown, may quite possibly be the greatest modern rock album to date, by far the band's greatest. This rock opera tells the story of a young couple (Christian and Gloria), and their feelings about the modern world, which they are very unhappy with. You got to love '21 Guns', 'East Jesus Nowhere', 'American Eulogy: Mass Hysteria/Modern World', the title track and many others.

All in all, this collection is a must-have. The fact that '21 Guns' is now featured with the American Idiot cast is also astounding. Perhaps the greatest thing about this collection, however, is that for the first time on iTunes, you can now buy the music video for 'Wake Me Up When September Ends', which is perhaps the band's best video.

All in all, a superb collection.

Good thing we have a bunch of smart people writing reviews here. Yes it is $100, but there won't be too many people buying the whole thing. Not because of the price, but the fact that most REAL Green Day fans have most if not all the songs already. This is an awesome collection of a band that has been around for two decades, and they still rock and evolve as a band. For the hard core fan you get some unreleased tracks that weren't on iTunes before, along with music videos as well. To the new Green Day fan this is a great way to get acquainted with there music from there 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours album to there newest album 21st Century Breakdown. At least they didn't block half of this collection saying that you had to buy the whole collection just to get a few songs. That was a smart move, and will help continue the growth of the Green Day fan base, since people are only interested in just downloading singles instead of albums. Long live Green Day and all the fans who enjoy Green Day as much as I do.

This is Awesome

This is the best thing ever!!!!!! I am probably one of the biggest green day fans but i dont have all their songs but in this album they have every song from every album and all the covers they did. The only problem is that its $99.99.

Out of all the post-Nirvana alternative bands to break into the pop mainstream, Green Day were second only to Pearl Jam in terms of influence. At their core, Green Day were simply punk revivalists who recharged the energy of speedy, catchy three-chord punk-pop songs. Though their music wasn't particularly innovative, they brought the sound of late-'70s punk to a new, younger generation with Dookie, their 1994 major-label debut. Dookie sold over ten million copies, paving the way for a string of multi-platinum...
