Sloppy Drums ruin what could have been a good listen

Don't be fooled by the preview snippets, the album is single handedly ruined by Don Alias's and Victor Lewis's drum playing. The notes on the album you can find elsewhere indicate that these songs were all first takes to imbue some sort of spontaneity. That is all fine and well when you have the skills to keep good time. Steve Swallow and the others I'm sure can keep excellent time and you can tell they are constantly fighting with the drums to keep everything together, most notably on "Hommage". I really cannot recommend this album because the drums are falling out of time every couple of measures. Neither Lewis nor Alias really has the chops to keep up. It's really kind of obnoxious how out of time they are and don't be deceived IT IS NOT ON PURPOSE.
