iTunes Review

In Heartthrob’s wake, the duo refine their nuanced New Wave pop. Love You to Death marks a reunion with producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Ellie Goulding), who helped steer the twins’ 2013 mainstream debut—an album whose ‘80s-indebted effervescence rightly inspired the likes of both Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. The result is a lean yet undeniable set of gauzy introspection (“That Girl”), stark ballads (“100x”), trampoline-like synths (“Boyfriend”), and, of course, titanic hooks (“Faint of Heart”).

Sigh

Call me nostalgic but I’m longing for sainthood-esqe tracks.

Ho hum

It’s sad that the duo who created “Alligator” and “Back in my Head,” among other songs, has turned to a sound that is so — well, like so many others bands'. Not only are the beats conventional and forgettable, but the lyrics seem inspired by a 12-year-old girl. I truly enjoy some of their early stuff, and I grant the fact that I am basing this on merely two songs from their forthcoming CD, but it sounds like some producer got ahold of them and is doing his best to make them mainstream (blah) and thus, like too many others.

Not a fan

I loved the con and their other old stuff. This just doesn't hit me like there other songs. I wish I could hear more of the amazing songs like nineteen, call it off etc. those songs gave me such emotion. This is just ugh blah. Blah.
