Editors’ Notes

This album is one of the most popular and challenging albums in the history of rock ’n’ roll. As much an aural collage as a straightforward art-rock treatise, the record uses its 43 minutes to link speaking voices, sound effects-heavy musique concrète, a bravura performance by session singer Clare Torry (“The Great Gig in the Sky”), moody existentialist statements (“Time,” “Us and Them”), and a funk-rooted strut (“Money”) that put the Floyd on U.S. pop radio for the first time. Dark Side has resonated with rock fans since its 1973 issue.

This Deluxe Experience Edition contains 11 additional live tracks (recorded in 1972 and 1974), an early version of “On the Run” called “The Travel Sequence” and a stunning, piano-only demo version of “Us and Them."

For those people...

For those who keep on saying that songs have been cut, its the way that the album produced you idiots. Songs floating into each other to sound like a one continious song. It's the way that the "concept albums" sounded back then. So don't complain and rest assured that there's nothing wrong with remaster.

Simply Amazing..

I was 15 years old back in '07 when my father introduced me to this band. Since that moment i've become a huge fan. Pink Floyd moved me, changed the way i think about the world we live in today. Today I'm 21 years old and i can't say i've experienced what it's like to grow up with this music but, i can definitely say it was the era of beautiful talent in the music industry. I'll forever be thankful for Pink Floyd and the music they've produced for you and i, because i'll never forget the moments i've experienced listening to this wonderful music.

Some bands turn into shorthand for a certain sound or style, and Pink Floyd belongs among that elite group. The very name connotes something specific: an elastic, echoing, mind-bending sound that evokes the chasms of space. Pink Floyd grounded that limitless sound with exacting explorations of mundane matters of ego, mind, memory, and heart, touching upon madness, alienation, narcissism, and society on their concept albums of the '70s. Of these concept albums, Dark Side of the Moon resonated strongest,...
