EDITORS’ NOTES

Indie pop should hit like a rush of summer warmth, and Talking Dreams—the debut album from LA sibling quartet Echosmith—radiates from the get-go. Bask in the sunny strumming of “Nothing’s Wrong,” free-fall to the racing bassline on “Let’s Love,” or slow your roll for a stripped-down, acoustic moment on “Bright,” where those swirling synths and beaming guitars pull back to reveal frontwoman Sydney Sierota’s voice at its sweetest. This is exuberant, youthful pop—built to keep shining, whatever the weather.

Amazing

OliviaOliveB,

This album, for me, was such a breath of fresh air!! Every single song is worth listening to. It has this casual, yet upbeat feeling about it. The sound they produce is perfect in every way. I can’t listen to it enough! I want more, can’t wait to hear what they put out next. Keep it up Echosmith!! <3

The Previous Version (of this album) was SO MUCH BETTER

Your argument is invalid,

I love this album. But I don't like what just happened to it. The RE-RELEASED VERSIONS OF THE SONGS ARE NOT THE SAME and are AWFUL! I don't understand at all. Please just put the old version back so that people who liked it as it was can be happy. Why did you have to remove the original. Yes I am speaking to whomever is responsible for that. Please rectify the situation as soon as possible. I still want to buy more of the originals, but I definitely won't buy any more of these. This is in no way the same album as before. I really did prefer the original version of the album cover but that is beside the point. The new versions of the songs are completely unacceptable. If we boycott, then maybe they will put the originals back...

About Echosmith

Made up of four siblings, Echosmith is an emo and '80s dance-rock-influenced band from California. Formed in Los Angeles in 2009, Echosmith features lead singer Sydney Sierota, guitarist/vocalist Jamie Sierota, bassist/vocalist Noah Sierota, and drummer Graham Sierota. The band signed to Warner Bros. in 2012 and a year later, opened for Owl City on tour. Also in 2013, they released their debut full-length album, Talking Dreams. Thanks to the Top 15 placement of the single "Cool Kids," the album reached the Top 40 in the U.S. and charted in ten other countries. In the middle of 2014, Echosmith returned with the five-song EP, Acoustic Dreams, which featured acoustic reworkings of cuts off Talking Dreams. ~ Matt Collar
