Sugar Ray's best kept secret...

It doesn't have any of their massive hits like "Every Morning" or "When It's Over". But, you still might get some milage out of their 5th album, "In The Pursuit of Leisure". The title fits, moreso than with any of their other releases...this CD houses a hunk of pleasant music. If you've never heard of "Floored" or "Lemonade and Brownies"...if you aren't a jaded metal fan who curses the song "Fly" and everything Sugar Ray released afterward...if you don't faint at the sight of variety...then give this album a shot. It contains their moderate hit "Is She Really Going Out With Him" as well as other gems like "Chasin' You Around" (the perfect album starter), "Heaven" (a pleasantly uncharacteristic duet with female singer Esthero), "56 Hope Road" (Sugar Ray meets Shaggy to do Pink Floyd meets Bob Marley), and "Photograph of You" (a hint of country mixed into your pop). Old school fans of Sugar Ray's first 2 albums might want to steer clear. Open minds might find a buried treasure here. Before diving in head first, I'd recommend giving a song or two a try. The magic of iTunes lets you do that, y'know...

Odd, but amazing!

There's only four reviews (counting mine) since 2003? This album is fantastic.

Forever and ever Sugar Ray

The best album ever!!! Sugar Ray has what it takes to make music and keep evolutioning. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Don´t listen to anyone who has something negative to say about this album. It really and truly is one of their greatest. Take the time to listen and appreciate the genre of music that is being played.

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Belying their origins as a raucous funk metal band, Sugar Ray created several of the most breezily infectious summer singles of the late '90s, hitting on an appealing combination of sunny pop, lightly funky hip-hop grooves, and reggae lilt. Pegged as likely one-hit wonders after their 1997 breakthrough smash "Fly," Sugar Ray managed to maintain their career momentum far longer than many observers expected, aided in no small part by the pinup-worthy looks of lead singer Mark McGrath. Of course, it...
