I Love You, Bernadette Peters!

How can any one person sing a love song like If You Were the Only Boy - then turn around and sing a honky tonk song like Pearl's a Singer - and break into your heart with both. I have played these two songs all day. I am 75 and wanted to dance when she sang Pearl - wearing mesh stockings, high heels, a short dress with a marabou hem and push up bra top - and then fall in love all over again with If You Were the Only Boy - amazing. When Bernadette sings a song that gets in your heart, it is there forever. I love you Bernadette Peters!

Bernadette Allows Me to Feel

I LOVE this album. I had the cassette years ago and wore it out. I've rediscovered it 15 years later and love the soulfulness of Bernadette Peters and that little crack she has in her voice. Perfect for a rainy day or when one's feeling sorry for one's self.

WOW. she continues to amaze me.

This album is amazing. It's the ONLY one of Bernadette's solo albums that I actually don't own yet... And I think it's my favourite. She sounds so different than when she's singing Sondheim or Rogers and Hammerstein; this album's so much more soulfull as opposed to her normal showtunes-like stuff that I fell in love with. I'm only fifteen but I've been a huge Bernadette fan my whole life and this album only makes me love her more. I recommend it to ANYONE.

Born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28, 1948, in New York City, she began singing and dancing while a toddler, and was already a member of Actors' Equity by the age of nine. By 1959, having adopted the stage name Peters, she appeared in a revival of The Most Happy Fella, subsequently co-starring in a road tour of Gypsy; however, she then retired...
