So very chill..

Owen releases some of the most breathtakingly beautiful music that caters to a male perspective. Don't worry though ladies, it's not chauvinistic or sexist. Instead, it's simple, eloquent, applicable to anyone who has been in any serious relationship, and utterly stunning considering the band consists of young artists/musicians. Some of their best songs are "Good Deeds," "The Ghost of What Should've Been," and "Breaking Away." Give them a shot. You might also really enjoy the band "American Football" if you like "Owen." American Football is a little more lively, still a great band, and their lyrics and musicianship will not fail to impress. Also, American Football had the original version of "Never Meant--" Owen remade it on this album. Both versions are completely different yet still very impressive.

Owen (Mike Kinsella)

Owen's Mike Kinsella puts his musical genius on dispaly for us once again. His soothing guitar plucking, and simple, yet sophisticated lyrics make every listener searching for more. I strongly suggest Owen to everyone, especially during the winter months (for those of you who have them), Make Sure you get ahold of the following: Poor Souls, Bed Abuse, Bad News, Bag of Bones, Who Found Who's Hair, and Everyone Feels Like You. I guarantee Mike Kinsella is going to rock your taint off!

Owen is fantastic and so relaxing, but no one has touched on the Rutabega...I thought that the Rutabega had some good material on here too. Check out their other albums, they're phenomenal. Well done by both bands.

Owen is Mike Kinsella, who's known for his important role in some of Chicago's most revered bands: Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, Owls, and American Football. All of the projects with the exception of American Football were bands that featured both Kinsella and his older brother, Tim, a well-known Chicago musician in his own right. In the projects that included both of them, Mike was relegated to the role of drummer while his brother handled guitar work. American Football marked a turning point for Mike,...
