A lifetime of work.

This is a wonderful collection songs. Tom ellard is a creative genius, and this album gives you a small taste of his life's work. Ranging from noise driven beats to highly complex digital composing. As well, check out the soundtrack for illustrated family doctor to hear his more ambient works.

A Musical Car Crash...

These guys are masters of their own genre.Their music is like a horrible vehicular car know you shouldn't look(listen) but the carnage gets your curiousity and you're under it's spell...the music can go from amusing to frightening in a flash and build to make hairs stand on end.Twister is playful with a sinister hint.Greater Reward is still a great dance track about a fallen angel.Dead Eyes is an interesting tale with awesome beats.Petrol is interesting with errie vocals.You will enjoy this collection of music and this cd will only make you yearn for more...ITunes needs to get the whole's truly one of a kind!

Bulkhead Plus = A+++

OK, So you've probably read another one of my Severed Heads reviews and think I'm partial to this band and I must confess I am (unabashedly so).This collection is pieced together from previously released EP's and albums and is one of my all time favorites...ever! Originally released as Bulkhead (no Plus) the tracklisting differed somewhat. On this release they seem to be remastered (and sounding superb) with all new cover art. The inclusion of "Heart of the party" (from "Gigapus") and "Twister" add an all new energy and vitality to the mix.I was a little disappointed that "Harold & Cindy Hospital" wasn't included on this compilation but the new tracks more than made up for it. I have never seen this available anywhere except on the Severed Heads website (Sevcom) and through iTunes.The price is definitely worth it for this exciting excursion into electronic ecstasy. Highly recommended.

Severed Heads were one of the pioneering acts on Australia's alternative music scene, a group whose work embraced elements of industrial, synth pop, electronic, and experimental music, with found sounds, tape loops, samples, and full-on noise playing as large a role in their music as any conventional instruments. Eclectic and stubbornly refusing to confine themselves to any single genre, Severed Heads evolved constantly from their debut in 1979 to their final retirement in 2008, as they used a wide...
