Masterful! No exaggeration. Hambridge manages to distill 100 proof spirit from his lyrics and juice them even more through his great production. The man has so many sides to his talents - writing, performing, production, honestly this is an artist who proves it so well in Boogieman. He can ROCK as hard as anyone, dig out the orneriest (is that a real word....? - well, sounds good to me) darkest blues and then just kill you with the most sensitive and insightful lyrics - check out "You're the Kind of Trouble", with Delbert McClinton, Corn Dog, You Got What I Want and then he'll turn you inside out with Nineteen and Shoebox. Shoebox - is truly incredible. Buy this recording - it is really masterful.

Great Artist

Saw him open for Buddy Guy in 2005 and was blown away. Bought cd's he was selling and got them autographed. Saw him again with BG in 2009 and again loved it and bought cd's. Unfortunately lost cd at show but that was the only downer to a wonderful birthday present. Buy his stuff. It is very good and you'd be surprised what songs he's written that others perform. Huge talent. Just bought cd here to replace lost one.

I bought this music on the Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man cruise this January. Tom sang many of the songs from this album and if you weren't a die hard fan to begin were when the show was over. The Boogieman album takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions! You groove to the blues and boogie sounds of "Good Teacher", "Corn Dog" and "Boogieman". I've seen "Nineteen" sang live and the crowd always ends up standing in respect to the words that shower our military personnel with the recognition they deserve. And "Shoebox" has men and women alike choked up as they reflect on past memories when the words of this song stirs the emotions. As I said, it's a rollercoaster and you'll find yourself pressing the REPEAT button to hear your favorite picks over and over. Tom Hambridge absolutely delivers the "boogie" on this CD. I encourage folks to buy this one not just for themselves...but to play the music when they gather with their friends for a good a time. I mean, who in their right mind doesn't like to boogie with their friends?!

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Drummer and songwriter Tom Hambridge had a brush with a more widespread following in 2000 following his debut for a major-record label, Balderdash, for the New York City-based Artemis Records. Artemis, a short-lived label run by record industry legend Danny Goldberg, folded just a few years later, but while it lasted, the label had an impressive lineup of roots music artists including Warren Zevon, Jimmie Vaughan, Todd Rundgren, Hubert Sumlin, and Susan Tedeschi. Raised in Buffalo, N.Y., Hambridge...
