easy to listen to

Just listening to it for the first time right now, but I was so suprised at how easy it was to listen to. I am really liking the sounds and relatively mellow feel. Cornell sounds good. I felt that Audioslave sounded forced at times, he sounds more right with these guys. It's one of the reasons they were so good the first time around. Personally, this listen just makes me want more. I wouldn't compare it to one of the previous albums. Just like all the others, this one is different from the rest. Each Soundgarden album has its own feel.

1st review !! Soundgarden is back!!

There could not have been a more appropriate song title for them to come back with after a lengthy layoff than
"been gone way too long" . They have teased us with a few rockin singles lately and cannot wait for the new album!!

Welcome Back!

I really like the new album. The Avengers single was ho-hum, and "Been Away Too Long" isn't their strongest work, either. But "Non-State Actor" seems ilke a genuine rocker of a single. It's got the guitar licks, Matt's awesome drumming, and of course, the requisite Cornell scream. I think it's going to grow on people, and I know they'll put on a helluva show.
It's not Badmotorfinger, but then the following two albums weren't either.

Similarly, Jane's Addiction were too fascinated with prog rock and performance art to appeal to a wide array of metal fans. Soundgarden, however, developed directly out of the grandiose blues-rock of Led Zeppelin and the sludgy, slow riffs of Black Sabbath. Which isn't to say they were a straight-ahead...
