Kander & Ebbs 1st Masterpiece

First and foremost it's a great recording.How thrilling to have seen this in it's London incarnation where it actually took place. Judy Dench rightfully was to become a star. Lila Kedrova is another highlight in her take on Fraulien Schnieder. Ms. Lenya must never be forgotten though. I do feel sorry for Ms. Haworth the original Sally. Even though Dame Judy can sing Ms. Haworth is the essence of Sally who is second rate and will always be such, that is the challenge for any great Sally Bowls.
