About Kora & Nic Falardeau

A five-piece contemporary reggae act from New Zealand, Kora was a (mostly) family affair, made up of the four Kora brothers (Laughton on guitar and vocals, Brad on drums and vocals, Stuart on guitar and vocals, and Francis on bass and vocals) and Dan McGruer on bass and keyboards. The Kora brothers got their start in the business back in the early '90s, performing as a group named Auntie Beatrice. That band went on to win a number of band competitions and secured a record deal. Kora came together when brothers Laughton and Francis began writing songs with McGruer. The collaboration eventually led to a number one debut, 2007's Kora. They were signed to Loop Records and were well known for their excellent live shows. ~ Chris True
