Sorry this is D+K's final offering as a band. According to their website, they are no longer together. About half of the songs on this double CD are unreleased gems with the signature sound most D+K fans dig. I like it. I think maybe they were unhappy about the majority of negative responses to Music Matters and decided to call it quits. Graciously, they attempted to appease their loyal fans by releasing this - and I'm thankful. Favorites are Satellite Tank, Debussy, Arabesq, Nargileh, Call Me, Morgenduft, Unkwn, Noon.

Vive Dzihan & Kamien!

Glad to find this outstanding final collection

I've been a big D&K fan for the past decade and own just about every single/album/remix with their moniker on it. After releasing five killer albums (Freaks & Icons, Refreaked, Gran Riserva, Live In Vienna & Fakes), along came "Music Matters" and I found myself stunned and confused, staring at my speakers wondering if this really was D&K. It was a big letdown, like a disposable pop sellout of sorts to widen their fanbase, and absent of the European lounge feel, the exotic undertones and jazzy trip-hop grooves I had grown to personally love from them.

Upon learning about the duo's split last year, I came across this recent compilation and considered it to be the best possible exit sign for D&K. If you couldn't stand "Music Matters" but appreciated everything else that D&K had to offer, this sterling collection is definitely a must-own. Perhaps this was some kind of artistic redemption for that last studio album, and if it was, then it's more than worthwhile as a purchase.

Although no longer together, this is a great retrospective of D&K

After the disastrous 2009 studio album, it is no wonder the band is no more.

This look at what me missed out from the group's glory days is a good companion to their musical chronicles. D&K will always remain one of my favorite 2000's downtempo/nujazz bands.

The sound of Vienna-based duo dZihan & Kamien (pronounced Jay-hahn and Kammy-en) can easily be compared with the downtempo, soulful house sounds of Jazzanova, P'taah, or the Naked Music compilations. The duo hit popularity in 1996 with the single "Der Buch," which went big in European clubs and made appearances on several compilations. Their full-length album Freaks & Icons was released in late 2000. Vlado dZihan, originally from Sarajevo, grew up in a predominantly musical household. As a drummer,...
