Adding New Themes To An Established Sound

So I believe this is Wretched's fourth full length album and for the most part it sounds pretty consistent with what they have done in the past. Musically they are using the same elements that made them attrative previously but this time around seemed to make them more polished. The pedal noting, pitch harmonics, blast beats, and low-high vocal approach are still in place but the lyrical themes seemed to have shifted from fictional occultic themes to subject matter of gore. Wretched isn't re-inventing the wheel with this effort but the music has enough pop and contrasts to make this a solid and entertaining effort.

Cannibal

I hadn't listened to their material before Cannibal, so I'm just reviewing this based on the here and now. These guys have a lot of talent, and I like the way they mix things up...you won't ever find two songs sounding the same. Songwriting is pretty strong and their guitar players are fast and technical. Saw them play live at Mayhem Festival recently, they are a cool group of guys. Signed my Cannibal CD and took the time to visit with fans and autograph. I have my metal favorites and I must say I really look forward to what the future holds for Wretched, I believe it's bright. Take a chance on these guys and get Cannibal.

Pretty good
