12 Songs, 58 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Tom Krell fully embraces pop on his fourth LP. Featuring co-production from Dre Skull, Jack Antonoff, and more, Care wraps the singer/songwriter’s voice in a disarming blend of lush electronics (see: the gumdrop melodies of “What’s Up”) and acoustic warmth (see: the nourishing guitar solo of “Lost You / Lost Youth”) that manages to be dreamy and direct all at once.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics. Mastered for iTunes

Tom saved my life 3 times already, let’s do it again

I said goodbye to a best friend for a long time with Love Remains. I buried a grandparent to Total Loss. I fell in love to “What Is This Heart?”. Took the love of my life on a first date to see Tom perform live. What more can I say? It only gets better from there.

Engaged

After going to the Queer Film Festival in PDX, and watching Contemporary Colour, orchestrated by David Byrne, I was truly engaged with the artists: Nelly Furtado, Beastie Boys, Lucius. Through the process I was introduced to new musicians, including Tom Krell, aka HTDW.

This new album is gorgeously weaved together. It is pensive, sultry and highly recommended.
