About David Nagler

A Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, David Nagler first made his mark in the music business as the founder and frontman of electronic pop duo Nova Social. Since its inception in 1998, the group has issued a number of EPs and LPs. In addition to his work with Nova Social, Nagler serves as the musical director for Wesley Stace's (aka John Wesley Harding) vaudevillian variety show Cabinet of Wonders, and is the host of the N.Y.C. piano bar Sid Gold's Request Room's popular Oracle Show. In 2016, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of poet Carl Sandburg's debut collection, Nagler issued the Carl Sandburg's Chicago Poems LP. Released under the name David Nagler & Friends, the collection featured 16 of Sandburg's poems set to music by an 11-piece ensemble that included Chicago-based guests like Jeff Tweedy, Robbie Fulks, Jon Langford, Sally Timms, Kelly Hogan, Daniel Knox, Nora O'Connor, and others. ~ James Christopher Monger
