Meowmix

There was an album that Guster made that was a meowmix of all the songs they had on their album Keep It Together, and they made this album to make it hard for music pirates to download the correct song. I'm pretty sure that Carol of the Meows was an extension of the meowmix version of Keep It Together and was not made to be taken seriously, for all those confused as to why a seemingly pointless song by such a good band was made. I don't deny, however, that this is a fun song to listen to.

The cat's meow

With the richness and depth of harmony produced by the vocals of what should be an ordinary rock band, you'll wonder why this song was ever sung any other way. The intricate harmonies come together in unison at the end to form a sound that can only be described as, well, purr-fect.

This is pure "Guster". Only they could get away with this and get people to buy it. <3 them.

Although they evolved into a full-fledged pop band, Guster began their career as a quirky acoustic trio. The band, whose three co-founders met during freshmen year at Tufts University, spent most of the 1990s touring the college circuit and releasing independent albums, all of which featured hand percussion in lieu of a traditional drum set.
