Editors’ Notes

This 20-song distillation of Hendrix’s short but expansive career is a solid introductory look at the man who redefined the electric guitar for rock n’ roll: psychedelic rockers (“Purple Haze,” “Manic Depression”), out-of-this world blues (“Red House,” “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”), sensitive ballads (“The Wind Cries Mary,” “Castles Made of Sand”), plus “The Star Spangled Banner” from the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

Um...is there a reason all the Jimi Hendrix albums were replaced? Some of us like to complete our albums for less $, ya know....

Greatest Compilation of Jimi

I was watching Jimi's interview by Dick Cavett and I was so amazed at how special he was, an absolutely great human being. He was so thoughtful and brilliant. Jimi Hendrix was a truly amazing person and a gift to our world. It makes me so sad that he's gone, but his music will always live on. Jimi was all about his music, and this album is the best compilation of his songs that I have found.

Long live the king!!!!!!

Jimi Hendrix was the king of rock and is just simpily amazing! He was a monster on the guitar!
