Classic …Trail of Dead

An honest review of this single is that there's not much expansion on …Trail of Deads sound. Now I could listen to it all day long, but I was hoping for something off the beaten path. I wasn't expecting Perry Como, just something a little more, experimental. This sound works well. It will sell, and hopefully the new album will be a little more creative. I guess after listening to new songs put out by the Deftones, it makes me wonder why other bands don't go balls out and say "F what people think we are supposed to put out, here it is like it or not." I am sure the months of hard work and dedication to making another excellent album will pay off. I guess it'd be nice to hear something that didn't sound like 95% of the rest of their catalog. Am I being too harsh? I hope it perceived as an huge fans honest opinion about a band I truly love. Looking forward to hearing the entire album! Put a te$ticle out there and see what happens next time.

Get Back

I just listened to the whole album. It is incredibly ferocious and engaging. It sounds like a back to basics re-imagining of the band from its Madonna/Source Tags Era. Catatonic is one of my favorites so far and a good indication of the sound of the album. Don't worry though, there's plenty of variety and surprises:)

The longtime friends originally met in Hawaii before settling in the indie hotbed of Olympia, Washington, where Reece drummed for the notorious Mukilteo Fairies. After relocating together to Austin, Texas, the duo began playing shows as "You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead," eventually adding...
