Album Review

Fans looking for a smart, economical, and sharp-sounding overview of radio-friendly Southern rockers .38 Special will find much to love in the Very Best of the A&M Years (1977-1988). "Hold on Loosely," "Caught Up in You," "If I'd Been the One" and "Rockin' into the Night" are all present, as well as deeper cuts such as "Take Me Back" and "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys." Listeners who require more from their collections would be better off picking up Hip-O's monster, two-disc, 34-track Anthology.

What a Bargain!

If you are looking for an album with all the following qualities: - Has just about all the songs you will want for your collection - Inexpensive - No filler - And More! then look no further than ".38 Special: The Very Best of the A&M Years." This is a great album, with almost all of their hits. I could give you some song recommendations, but the album only costs $6 to download in its entirety! What a deal! If I were you, I'd just get the whole album. I think .38 Special is one of the most underrated bands that exists. Give them a listen and you'll see why! I hope this helped, and happy listening =)

After releasing a couple of albums of straight-ahead Southern boogie, the band revamped its sound to fall halfway between country-fried blues-rock and driving, arena-ready hard rock. The result was a string of hit albums and singles in the early '80s, highlighted by "Caught Up in You," "If...
