Customer Reviews

I must admit i was a little "put off" by the title..I kinda figured it would be some whiney, college,pro-activist, cause of the week, picketing BS..but the tracks on here are from some AMAZING pioneering bands and they are some very hard to find versions of these tracks. One in particular i LOVE is the LIVE version of "The Walk" from the goldy THE CURE..the fact that its one of their more obscure songs and that its live really adds to the credibility of this project..the other tracks are not disappointing either. Its a great ecclectic mix of several types/genres of music that span decades and blur lines of musical tastes. If you are a true lover of music and arent just some trendy top 40 hor, then give this a try..youll def be surprised at how good it all is. Its a great addition to any music lovers collection and a great disk to put on w/ freinds over b/c it will appeal to alot of diff music lovers. Also a great one to add to your collection if you happen to like making compilations for your friends.all in all..a more than valliant effort!

Words cannot describe...

Words cannot desribe: not only how amazing the songs and bands on this album are. but, also how thrilled i am that the proceeds are going to help the crisis in darfur. I organized a city wide walk to raise public awareness about the crisis in darfur last february, i raised $20,000. im thrilled now more people are getting involved. great album!

Fantastic music for a great cause.

You know how most charity albums are good ideas on paper, but musically they usually are lame/weak/just-plain-bad? This album is the exact opposite. Great bands, solid tracks...not a clinker in there. And it benefits Oxfam America, Human Rights Watch, and Doctors without Borders? Three TOTALLY noble organizations working in Darfur? Amazing. Hats off to the people who put this together.
