Album Review

Green Jelly was still called Green Jello when Cereal Killer Soundtrack was released in 1993, but when the makers of Jello objected to the name and the band faced legal action, a name change proved necessary. Comparable to GWAR but exhibiting a goofy personality of its own, the former "video only" outfit takes itself about as seriously as Spinal Tap on its first audio release. There's nothing even remotely serious about this album — from start to finish, this is obviously a parody of thrash and heavy metal and alternative rock. A few of the songs sink under the weight of Jelly's self-indulgence, but at its best, the band can be wildly entertaining. Cereal's standout track is the nutty metal/rap hit "Three Little Pigs," and almost as much fun are "Electric Harley House (Of Love)" (Jelly's parody of Motörhead), "Obey the Cowgod," and a cover of the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy In the U.K."

THIS ALBUMS IS GREAT BUT......

ITUNES, WOULD YOU PLEASE GET THE VIDEO FOR "THREE LITTLE PIG'S" IT'S OUT OF CONTROL!!!! ----NEED MORE 80's AND 90's VIDEO'S

Ah, Green Jelly...what times we had.

This album is just fun to listen to. It might not be on anyone's top 100 lists but that's okay. If you enjoyed 90s rock of all kinds and don't mind a large dose of humor, this album does the trick. The first three songs in particular are hilarious and actually quite good musically. Better than their follow-up album, "333".

Three Little Pigs

The band Green Jelly is amazing. A very humorous album with some of the best musicians. I know C.J. in the band as a great guitarist for winning grammy awards. C.J. is my guitar teacher and has never took a lesson. He is just amazing and so is the whole band.

Best known for their suprise Top 40 hit "Three Little Pigs" (as well as the song's claymation video, which became a staple on MTV in 1993), Green Jelly began their career as Green Jellö in 1981. The name was chosen due to the band's poor opinion of green-flavored jello, and they decided it also appropriately reflected the quality of their music. Hailing from Kenmore, NY, the bandmates never attempted to be good, deciding instead to "disguise their lack of ability with stupid props," as their liner...
