Aristocrunk does it again

The first album established the gimmick. And now, with Chairmen of the Bored, it is developed, relished in, and played with. There are some legitimately sick tracks on here. Whereas Aristocrunk was good, it had to paint the image of The Lords. Now, with that behind them, they can weave great jaunts into the lives of Lord T and Eloise and the Aristocrunk lifestyle. I could imagine genuine hip-hop folks digging this album more than they did the first.

Respectable Follow-Up to Aristocrunk

A delightful if slightly less-inspired follow-up to 2006's Aristocrunk, Chairmen of the Bored is pithy, original, and accomplished. Far superior than the vast majority of mundane and formulaic hip-hop, Lord T & Eloise's songs offer innovative and clever subject matter (from mergers & acquisitions to corporate america to Hollywood to sommeliers and culinary pleasures) and a flow that, while not mind-blowing, is at least competent by contemporary professional standards. Their personalities are unique, their themes are distinct, and their music is catchy. Lord T & Eloise, with both their albums, are must-haves for music connoisseurs who demand more than the standard auto-tune junk that is all-too prevalent today. In particular, check out "Coup d'Etat" "Back from the Business Trip" "The Yacht" "Palm Beach" "Le Connoisseur" "That Corporate Life" and "Untuxedo" for Lord T & Eloise at their creative best. Low-points include "Chemicals" and "Lord T & ELoise" which were obviously filler songs between gems. All told, a fine effort. 4/5 stars.

Lord T & Eloise rock my socks!

I've seen these guys a few times in concert and they get better every time. This cd is a great continuation to their musical tradition. I also love the references to Kids in the Hall. If your looking for something different and yet entertaining this is your group. Can't wait to see them again.
