the judges were too harsh. this is a nice song.

way to make jessica feel awkward on stage after singing her potential winning single. i felt bad for her. it's actually not a bad song at all and is one of the more contemporary winner's singles i've heard on the show. the judges told her she should have been more "urban" like beyoncé, when they should know very well beyoncé is equally as known for her pop ballads as she is her urban smashes.

the track record on idol hasn't been the greatest with post-idol success, so i don't know if i can put much stock in the judge's comments on this song. they don't know what the public wants any more than the majority of record labels do these days… some seem to have it down for particular artists (rihanna, katy perry, etc.) but there is no tried and true method of making songs smash anymore. either the public likes it or they don't… radio also needs to do its part to promote new music if we're going to see any significant shifts.

regardless of whether jessica wins tomorrow or places second, i look forward to hearing her album. if this song is on it, great. if not, that's fine too. however, i think the judges should have been a little less demeaning. telling her she shouldn't be singing this song because it's not urban enough? jessica is a new artist. she's going to have even more of an uphill climb to make it in the pop world away from the show. she hasn't yet reached the point where she'd be able to speak up too much. if she did and the label thought she was being difficult, they'd cut her off right there and we'd never hear from her on a major platform again….

where will the song go? we'll have to see… but one thing still remains true: jessica is immensely talented and deserves success.

Crap Song

But this is not about the about her, the best of the night

The judges were wrong

The judges may have thought she did not sing this song well but i think she did a great job:)
