Customer Reviews

It's good.

I think this E.P. was good. However, I think Tom has potential to really push the bar with Ilan. I'm looking forward to a moment when everything is really put aside to focus on making a progressive and inspiring piece of work.

LOVE IT

Only 4 songs but all solid, if love AvA you won't be disappointed!

A Return To Form!!!

I’ve been a longtime AVA fan since 2006 when WDNTW came out, and I’ve loved their evolution as a band. I-Empire is still my favorite record they’ve released, but with The Dream Walker and the Of Nightmares… EP, their sound changed a lot to be more electronic than previous releases. I like all their albums, but this EP very much harkens back to their old WDNTW and I-Empire days, while still incorporating some of their newer Dream Walker stuff. It’s a must-buy for fans of the band, and goes well with his new novel Sekret Machines. Every track is gold, but my favorites are by far “Overload” and “Chasing Shadows”. Just brilliant. Lyrics are solid and deep/soulful. Tom’s vocals still as great as they’ve always been, and the instrumentals rock. Much more rock based than electronic based, which is solid. And the production is much better here than it was on Dream Walker and Of Nightmares. Buy this EP, support this band. You won’t regret it.

Much hype ensued after the announcement. In interviews with outlets like MTV.com, DeLonge proclaimed that his new music would borrow elements from bands like U2 and Pink Floyd and, ultimately, be something of a revolution to change the face of rock & roll forever.
