The Quintessential Seventies Song
First, nobody covers this song. I mean, dude, it's CHEVY VAN.
Chevy Van wasn't performed in the Seventies, man, the Seventies were created for the advent of freakin' Chevy Van.
Chevy Van by Sammy Johns is the FREAKIN' Chuck Norris of Seventies songs. I mean, duh, it's about dude and a babe having some Seventies fun IN A FREAKIN VAN, MAN.
I realize many of you lament that you cannot experience the Seventies. Ah, but you can. THE DECADE OF THE SEVENTIES LIVES!! It's all wrapped up in this song, brothahs and sistahs.
- James Pitt
Very Good older song but i've never heard of it utill I heard it on the oldies station on at late night radio
Hear it once... hear it forever
This is one song that no one could ever remake. Sammy just sings it so perfectly. I tried to get Jimmy Hopper to sing it at the Four Seasons in Newport Beach. He told me he that he didn't know it, then he turned away with a tear in his eye.
