Album Review

Dean Evenson is a very spiritual and multi-talented man. He collaborated with Cha-Das-Ska-Dum on Native Healing. Cha-Das-Ska-Dum performed and recorded his pieces over the last 22 months of his life; he died on August 17, 2000. Evenson and Cha-Das-Ska-Dum's family and friends constructed these soundscapes and atmospheres around his chants and percussion. This is a deep and sacred album. It will appeal to fans of R. Carlos Nakai, Douglas Spotted Eagle, and Robert Tree Cody.

i have other titles by dean and i love them all. his work is wonderfull if you do any kind of healing or bodywork. it really heaps the clieint to relax and provids a space for the healing/relaxation to take place. also i used the music to study by - it helped me focus and rest so that i wasn't so stressed out for exams.

most powerful, heart felt music

I stumbled upon this album quite by accident while looking for reiki music. I bought the album on instinct, not having listened to any music by Evenson or Cha-das-ska-dum. My heart has been softened and I feel a deep connection to the earth and the web of life as a result of listening to this album. I used the song "The Earth Is Calling Our Name" as the centerpiece of a video presentation I did for a class. This is now my most treasured spiritual album.

Just absolutely outstanding. I rarely buy an entire album anymore... just a selection of tracks here and there, but the journey this takes you on is just beyond words.
