Great Return To Form

Lake Of Tears returns with their infectious brand of melodic metal. Moons and Mushrooms is their best album since Forever Autumn and there is not a dog on the entire album. They even have one of their patented mellow tunes entitled "Children Of The Grey" which is atmospheric genius. My other favorites are probably Last Purple Sky, You Better Breathe While There's Still Time and Island Earth Rules!! Get this thing in your player and you won't be able to put it down for months! Long Live LAKE OF TEARS!

Back again

I didn't realize they had this new album out till now, A must buy, LoT yet again shine in this album!

Lake of Tears continues to evolve

With "Moons and Mushrooms", Lake of Tears' musical style continues to evolve (along with more bizarre album and track titles). At the core of this album, everything is the same--same excellent drumming, guitar work, and outstanding vocals. However, Lake of Tears has gone a little more "mainstream" with this album, and thus the sound is more similar to much of the rest of the rock genre. While it still retains its uniqueness, it is not expressed nearly as well as some of the previous albums such as "The Neonai" and "Black Brick Road". Now I'm not putting this album down in any way; all I'm saying is that Lake of Tears has yet again moved ahead in its unique and exhilarating style of rock music. There is nothing out there yet that I've found to compare. An easy 5 stars. I urge everyone to suggest that iTunes make their previous albums available so all can enjoy.

Lake of Tears first came together in 1992 when Daniel Brennare, Jonas Eriksson, and Michael Larsson left the death metal band they were playing in and hooked up with Johan Oudhuis. They recorded a demo in early 1993 which caught the attention of Black Mark Productions, who signed the band soon after. Their debut, Greater Art, was released in 1994, followed quickly by Headstones the next year. The band began to tour through Europe, losing guitarist Eriksson in the summer of 1996. They recorded a third...
