EDITORS’ NOTES

On Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, Limp Bizkit follow up Significant Other by again throttling listeners with furious combinations of metallic crunch and bad-boy alienation, tricked out with DJ Lethal’s samples and breaks. Fred Durst swaggers and spits pure rage on “Full Nelson” and “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle),” both of which find the sweet spot between mosh pit anthem and lowrider jam. The singer saves his most personal attacks for “Boiler,” a savage love-gone-wrong throwdown soaked in dejection.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

Why do I bother?

This is why stupidity should not be embraced, it’s toxicity ruins mankind. This is without a doubt some of the worst noise I’ve ever heard. Do people even know what good music is? And don’t say “that’s just you’re opinion”, because the only people who say that are ones who are wrong, and have bad taste. And hot dog completely ripped off closer by nine inch nails.

Underrated

Take away from the odd lyrics, and take a dive into a mix of Wes Borland's guitar riffs, Fred Durst's odd but original vocal style and D.J. lethal's turntables skills and the whole thing just fits for a good album... Though it may not be everybody's style, but this definitely helps define a type of nu metal of which I haven't heard since this album was released...
