Very good stuff! Good quality recordings, original too. I wasn't sorry I purchased this one at all!

Better than the originals

As Jeannie Sealy says, Jack's voice ages like fine wine. He sounds better today than he ever did on the original recordings, and these cuts capture the true talent of the Jolly Greene Giants, Jack's backing band on the Grand Ole Opry. Jack has come a long way since his days as Ernest Tubb's drummer, and this compilation does him proud.

Jack Henry Greene was born January 7, 1930, in Maryville, Tennessee. Greene took guitar lessons when he was eight years old, then added drumming to his abilities. Moving to Atlanta in the late 40s, he became part of the Cherokee Trio with Lem Bryant and Speedy Price. He then became a member of the Rhythm Ranch Boys and was a popular radio entertainer on Georgia Jublilee on WTJH.
