Best Album I Own

I was young when the Gin Blossoms hit the scene big, so don't really remember them, but one day I heard one of their songs on radio. It was weird because I knew almost all of it from hearing it all the time when I was much younger. Now I am in college and I find their songs to still be amazing. I would much rather listen to them than the rap that is abundant now. This album is a non-stop ride. It truly displays what the band can do, with pop hits
(Hey jealousy) and then toned down meaningful songs(Until I Fall Away). This is an album you can listen to over and over again, plus the bonus material is great with never before released tracks and the live song. I may be a good few years late in becomming a fan, but the Blossoms are my favorite band and this album is simple amazing. If a 19 year old college kid still likes them, then they must withstand the test of time. Can't wait for their new release in August.

That's why they "sound the same"

Epic Album

This Gin Blossoms album is truly a masterpiece. Doug Hopkins songwriting completely and unapologetically shines a light on his alcoholism and depression in such a fashion as to still make you feel good. It is sad and poetic while maintaining a curious wit.

As a side note, Robin Wilson (the lead singer) wrote Allison Road, not Doug. In fact, it was the only song Robin wrote entirely on his own. Doug penned or co-penned only 6 of the 12 songs on the original NME - Lost Horizons, Hey Jealousy, Hold Me Down (w/ Robin Wilson), Found Out About You, Pieces Of The Night and Cheatin' (w/ Valenzuela). Jesse Valenzuela (the other guitar player) also penned or co-penned 6 of the songs.
