10 Songs, 34 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Chuck Berry’s grace was finding a formula and sticking to it. Released five months after his 90th birthday—and three months after his death in March 2017—Chuck taps into Berry’s zeal for life, from his wife (“Wonderful Woman”) to enchiladas (“3/4 Time”) to winking at his past (“Lady B. Goode,” the ripping “Big Boys”). He does it all without ever sounding stale—a witty, vital, and fun farewell.

Chuck is back!

With a heavy heart, it really is so special to hear Chuck Berry's final album. The first single is exactly what I'd hoped for - searing rock & roll straight from the classic Berry playbook. Beautiful poetry, an awesome riff, and monstrous guitars (it even features the great Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine). I can't wait to hear the full record, and if "Big Boys" is any semblance of what the rest of it will sound like, I think we're looking at one of the most fun & awesome albums in many years. Rest in peace good sir. Hail, hail rock n roll!

Big Boys

Can't wait for the rest of this album. Almost 90, and he still has that sound that makes you tingle all over
