Album Review

Foxy Brown's sophomore outing, Chyna Doll, entered the U.S. album charts at number one. The album opens with an introduction consisting of Brown's mama giving birth to li'l Foxy, all the while yelling obscenities and "I own the hookers, I own the pimps," then giving what she owns to her baby. Lovely indeed. Brown's reputation as a hoodish sex kitten is played to the hilt on this album, as evident on the track "Dog and a Fox" (with DMX). Other tracks, such as "Job," which features Mya and samples Gwen Guthrie's "Ain't Nothin' Goin' on But the Rent," and "I Can't," which features Total and samples Wham!'s "Everything She Wants," aren't quite as catchy, although they feature well-known hooks and R&B singers. There are a couple of interesting tracks, such as lead single "Hot Spot," "Can U Feel Me Baby," and the early rap retro-sounding "Tramp." ~ Jose F. Promis, Rovi

The Best Female Rapper

Though her lyrics are raunchy, she is sick wit it, and real wit it, i love her and have always been a fan, give us more!!!!

Best Foxy Brown Album

Chyna Doll is Foxy Brown's best album. It has some really hot beats on it, along with Foxy's clever raps. Hot Spot is the obvious hit, being it is very catchy. Job, which features Mya, is my favorite on here, because it has crazy beats and great lyrics. Bonnie and Clyde, Pt. 2 has Jay-Z in it, who was in her big hit from Ill Na Na, "I'll Be", and he effectively proves that he can collaborate with anyone. Ride (Down South) is a bit longer at 5:41, but it has nice beats in the background and the raps are hot. Overall this album is awesome!

Foxy brown is Definitely one of the best rappers. Her music tends to be better throughout her years. This album is Definitely not her best album. If you really want to listen to a great album then listen to Broken Silence by Foxy Brown.

Before she had released any material at all, Foxy Brown appeared on several 1995-1996 platinum singles, including her first credit, LL Cool J's "I Shot Ya," as well as Total's "No One Else" remix of Jay-Z's "Ain't No...," Toni Braxton's "You're Makin' Me High" remix, and Case's "Touch Me, Tease Me." The incredible success led to a major-label bidding war at the beginning of 1996, and by March, Brown had signed with the Def Jam label as another in the ranks of young and hard female rappers.
