Album Review

Liquid Glass might be a "different" release by Revelation standards (i.e., not straightedge hardcore), but it's a pretty standard record — as their name suggests, Whirlpool falls into the iffy ground of American rock with a few dreampop influences (right down to the album's low-budget 4AD-style artwork), with neither end standing up very well on its own. There's a moderate amount of hooks on the record, but none of them seem to make up for the uninspired sound of the band.

Rediscovering an old friend

The opening track of Whirlpool's Liquid Glass album Machine Religion was a vital track in the soundtrack to my days in college. The coed vocals, the pixies-esque guitar work, and the bass and drums work so well, this was the ultimate chill song. I am glad I was able to find this old friend here on i-tunes!!
