iTunes Review

Over rootsy tones like melting pedal steels, twangy Telecasters, and banjos, Scotty McCreery reminisces about a summer fling on “Out of Summertime.” “I Love You This Big” immediately downshifts into ballad territory with a heartstring-pulling serenade. It’s pure Nashville, replete with emotionally charged female backing vocals, but McCreery’s timeless-sounding voice gives the song true grit.
