examine what you think cant get better

lets be real here folks. you cant be a Trent Reznor Fan without being able to pick apart and examine with a fine toothed comb everything you hear Thats what this disk accomplishes. It rips closer apart, examining its structure, insides, outsides, rythem, patterns, and meaning. remixes = more new music

While "closer" was one of my least favorite songs on "the downward spiral," the first track on this EP, "closer to god" is easily one of my all-time favorite nine inch nails songs. One of the great things about these remix albums is that it gives the people who own the regular albums something new. Traditionally where an artist will have an album out and then release a single with one song and a b-side, you're still only getting the same song that appears on the full length album. With nine inch nails, you get several different variations on a song, but all of it is essentially new music. If you like the remixes, you should check out "head like a hole (opal)" from the UK release of the "head like a hole" single (halo 3), and the "gave up" remix appearing on the "fixed" EP (halo 6).

this is a great compilation it definetly completes the masterpiece closer! Trent Reznor is a genius.
